Hockey N' Heels – Phoenix Coyotes

Where: Arena, home of the Phoenix Coyotes
When: Saturday March 24th, 2007

What an event! We began the day in the Rinkside Club and rotated through four workshops:
Fun Hockey Facts with Linda Fletcher...including all things Stanley Cup

Rules of the game with Darren Pang...he answered every question brilliantly!

Game Strategy with Shawn McCosh...very useful information when it came time to hit the ice for a little broomball action

Equipment demonstration: Yours truly was completely dressed in Boyd Devereaux’s old Coyotes gear as Scott Storkan explained each piece of hockey equipment. Boyd’s gear didn’t smell too bad.

Ice Level
Photo Op...each guest donned the Coyotes home and away jerseys and posed with a hockey stick in front of Curtis Joseph’s net.

Goal scoring competition...we each had thirty seconds to score as many goals as we could...for cool Coyotes prizes including an autographed jersey and autographed hockey pucks. Guess who tied for third with 17 goals and won a puck? That’s right, me!

Broomball...knee pads, elbow pads, helmets and futurist brooms without bristles and we gals were transformed into a hardcore competitive group. My team, who I affectionately dubbed “The Hockey & High Heelers” were smoked 4-1. Okay, we did have four less teammates than our opponent. Good excuse, right?

Phoenix H&H Event

Refreshments on “The Terrace”...Coyotes luxury suite members have a beautiful outdoor terrace to access during games. However, this particular sunny afternoon, the girls of Hockey & Heels languished and took in the views of Westgate, and nibbled on delicious southwest/ asian fusion inspired appetizers and cool beverages as we anticipated the game.

The Game...Dallas Stars vs. Phoenix Coyotes. Our well heeled group sat in the lovely lower bowl on the corner mid section of section 119. We were decked out in our complimentary Coyotes visors and cheering up a storm. Hockey N’ Heeler, Lisa, from Phoenix won the “fan of the game” competition. Not a surprise it was one from our group...we were sick!

The action packed game ended in a shoot out – Winner... the Dallas Stars.

Time toooo say good bye...

For starters...I didn’t want say good-bye. I am forever bonded to some of Phoenix Coyotes finest fans... the women from Hockey N Heels!

Many thanks to Group Sales Manager, and awesome hockey fan, Scott Schiff for including myself and Hockey & High Heels into the program – I loved it!

Many thanks to Sarah Finecy in Fan Development...her quick smile and enthusiasm for the game are undoubtedly development new fans every day!
